Why Articles?

Writing short, informative craft articles can radically boost the number of visitors to your craft blog or site. It will increase your popularity at the search engines and very likely lead to increased sales - which is more money for you. What's more, it's absolutely free to do!

Sign up here for your free account, write an article of between 300 and 1500 words (check our submission rules), submit it and wait for your site visitor numbers to increase. Sounds too easy doesn't it. Let me explain what happens.

It's tough for you to get your craft blog or website to rank high in Google. Certainly not in the early days. But you can get an article in there.

Google, Yahoo, Bing and all those others love article directories like this one because they have varied content, they're regularly updated and they're tightly targetted on their subject. As a result, a single article can rank very well. They regularly outrank sites that have been going for years.

That article has a link to your craft blog or website at the bottom. Some of the people who read your article are bound to click that link and visit you. Write one article and a few people will visit. Write more and guess what - yep, more visitors. There's really no limit to the number of new people you might attract to your craft business over time.

Do you have to keep submitting? Well consistency always pays off in any business and yours won't be any different. Just submitting one article isn't going to change your business overnight but submitting one a week could make a lot of difference over a period of months. More articles will probably have the same effect faster. The beauty of it is you decide. You control when you submit and how many.

It's not as if it's hard work.

All you're doing is writing short articles about the craft you love anyway. As I've said before, it doesn't have to be Pulitzer prize stuff. In fact if you imagine you were explaining something to a friend and write it like that it will probably be more effective than a lot of flowery prose.

Why not give it a go? What have you got to loose? I'll tell you what you've got to gain. For no investment other than your time you can draw hundreds, possibly thousands of new visitors to your craft business. Don't you think it's worth a try?

Of course there are a few tricks of the trade and a few tips and techniques that will hugely increase your visitor numbers for the same amount of work. Having a look at what other crafters have done will give you some idea but it's a good idea to use expert help. The definitive book on the subject is The Art of Article Marketing and I thoroughly recommend you get a copy.
